A Review of Stripped by Piper LawsonAva and Nate - 4 stars
This was the first book I've had the pleasure of reading by Ms. Lawson. I absolutely LOVED the cover, which was the first thing that drew me in when it came up in the Instafreebie offer. After reviewing the blurbs for the first book in the series, I really want to go back and get that book and read it as well, since the characters cross over in both books (and it looks like there are four books in the series). Ava and Lex are best friends and planned on starting their own fashion label after the graduated from college. Ava's brother and Lex end up getting together in the first book, so they play a part in this book as well. Good storytelling, just needs a little cleaning up on grammatical issues.

I don't know how to tell you how good this book is, without giving the details!
Anyway, i'll still try. The characters are so relatable and its insane. Their response to the adversity they meet is at once exaggerated in the way only romance novels can do; and relatable, If you're drama queen like a huge bunch us; Yes, me too. Lol! The pace is just right. Not too fast, not too slow. And the heat is worth another shower. Or turning the air-conditioing on at the very least. I'm serious! Lol. Anyway, i highly recommend buying. I would definitely reread this.
This is a really great romantic read that didn't make me rush thru to get past the bad parts as some books/stories have. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly makes this one better than those, but if forced I'd have to say the characters as well as the actual story is not only believable but kept my interest through out. I recommend giving this one a try. I think you'll be glad you did.
I enjoyed the first in the series, so moved on to this. They are great quick reads that pull you in and leave you wanting more. The author presents great details about her characters that helps paint a vivid picture in your head. Read it, you wont be disappointed.
This was my first book by this author. While Stripped is the second book in a series, I didn't feel like I missed a whole lot by not reading Schooled first. Stripped was a good story with likeable characters, but I felt like the plot lost something about half way through. I didn't skim and wasn't bored with it, but it wasn't a "can't put down" kind of book. It didn't leave me eager to read the rest of the series, although I might read more of the author's books if they are ever free like this one was.
This is one review I know will be all over the place. To start I totally loved the energy and dynamics between Ava and Nate! The firecracker that is Ava’s personality is the perfect pairing to Nate’s socially acceptable exterior. The way that Ava can get Nate to open up is hilarious and heart warming...Can we say Word Bombs?! As for Nate, he anchors Ava and helps guide her when she needs it most. Highly recommend this book...however, I would make sure that you aren’t reading it when others are sleeping...it scares them when you laugh out loud;-)
Writer Piper Lawson really drew my attention with her debut book ‘Schooled’ and after reading ‘Play’, I just put her on my list of favorite writers. So why had I wait so long to read ‘Stripped’? Well, if you buy as many books as I do then the chance is big that some books just will disappear on your TBR pile and that is what happened with this book. I must also confess that I’m not really a big fan of lawyers too but after reading and loving ‘Stripped’ so much, I have totally changed my mind about that one.
‘Stripped’ is the second book of the Travesty series and this story is about Ava Cameron who we met in the first book of this series. Ava is the best friend of Lex and is also Dylan’s sister (the H and h of the first book). In ‘Schooled’ we saw the girls work hard to start their own fashion label in New York. Here we get to see how the adventure continues. Ava and Lex are now living and working in New York. Starting your own fashion label is hard work. Each of the girls have their own talents, Ava is the creative one and so the fashion designer and Lex has the brains so she takes care of the ‘non-creative’ side of their business.
The last thing that the girls expected was to get blamed for stealing designs from another designer! And what make things worse is that the lawyer from the counterparty is someone who Ava knows, she even knows him very intimately! Because he’s the man who she spent a hot night with a few months back. Ava never thought she would ever see him again.
Nate Townsend never thought that he would meet Ava ever again. Just like Ava he’s very shocked about their meeting but he’s also very excited because since that one night they spent together he has been thinking of her a lot.
And when he discovers that she’s in dire need of a new apartment he helps her. Ava doesn’t want his help but she’s desperate enough to accept it. If only she had known before she signed the contract that Nate was living in the same building! So now they meet more times than Ava would like but the more she sees of him, the more she gets to see a different side of him.
Loving someone can be heaven but it also can get you hurt. Nate learned that the hard way, so loving someone again isn’t on his to do list but Ava touches him in ways that nobody else can. With her he can be ‘real’, he doesn’t have to be perfect. And that’s something that he really like. They are spending more and more time together and slowly they are falling for each other. But the ‘real’ world is never far away and for Nate and Ava this means that in real life they’re facing a court law with both of them on different sides and then you have Nate’s rich and powerful parents who already choose the perfect girl for him.
Can they really have a future together or was this never meant to be?
Unlike ‘Schooled’ this story is told from both POV’s. I really enjoyed that. Nate and Ava have a great chemistry together, I liked the fact that Nate shows Ava a different side of him then he shows the outside world. I really love Piper Lawson’s writing style, I find it very refreshing, the sex scenes are sexy and hot but never too hot, there is fun in her books but there’s also room for serious stuff. The balance between everything is just perfect for me, no big dramas but also no boring stuff. I really look forward to reading more books of her!
This was the first book in the Travesty series I decided to read (its the blurb... It almost always decides my reading decisions for me LOL) and I was not disappointed!! Loved the chemistry and banter..... Loved the side characters and their relationships between each other!! This was definitely worth every minute I spent reading it and will most definitely read the other books in this series!! I absolutely recommend this book!!!!!!
